Legion Park

Legion Park is a sports complex type park, which is home to the Valley Springs Legion Post 131 baseball team.  The park also contains a softball field, soccer field, a grass volleyball court, and horseshoe pits along with a picnic shelter and playground.

Cassidy Park

Cassidy Park is named after its founder, George Cassidy.  In 1878, George Cassidy came to Valley Springs to take up the duties as its first railroad station agent, a job he held until his death in 1913.  The park today has a large playground with plenty of shady trees and picnic tables for everyone to enjoy.

Beaver Creek Nature Center

Southwest of Valley Springs

Developed to increase environmental awareness in visitors.  Beaver Creek Nature area highlights natural and historical resources in the vicinity.  Beaver Creek is home to a variety of birds, animal, and numerous tree specimens.  Explore the area on the 1.5 miles of hilly trails winding through the park. 

Every year the park hosts the Homesteader Day Harvest Festival held the Sunday after Labor Day.  The free event typically features fiddlers, pioneer crafts, living history, and old-time farming demonstrations.  Contact the park office for more information 605-594-3824.

Summer Recreation

The City of Valley Springs sponsors transportation to and from swimming lessons at the Rock County Community Pool & Fitness Center in Luverne, MN each summer for all Valley Springs children as well as to open swimming at the City of Brandon pool.

Soccer and softball is also offered each summer for the youth of Valley Springs in addition to a Make & Take Project Time.
