Valley Springs Museum

The Valley Springs Museum is located in a log cabin that was acquired by Larry and Margaret Long.  Larry and Margaret are former Valley Springs residents who currently live in R ock Rapids, IA.

While living in Valley Springs, the Longs purchased the cabin and maintained the museum on their property.  The Longs donated the museum to the City of Valley Springs and it is now located next to City Hall. 

The museum contains many Valley Springs items that Larry and Margaret collected over the years.  The bulding was originally a gift shop at Ft. Yankton.  The log cabin was one of several that contained gifts and souvenirs at the fort.  Now it is serving as a part of Valley Springs' history as our museum.  The museum is open by appointment and during Valley Springs Booster Days, which is the second weekend in July.  Please contact Ardell Johnson at 605-757-6273 for an appointment or for further information.
