Brandon Valley School District
The Brandon Valley School District was established in 1962 through the reorganization of the Valley Springs School District, Brandon School District, and twelve common school districts, forming one unified district. Today, the district covers 128 square miles—bordering Sioux Falls to the west, Minnesota and Iowa to the east, Canton to the south, and Garretson to the north. It includes a high school, middle school, intermediate school, and four elementary schools.
Brandon Valley is one of the few school districts in South Dakota experiencing steady growth in both student enrollment and taxable valuation. This growth provides a strong financial foundation, allowing the district to maintain small class sizes and offer a full, well-rounded curriculum. These smaller class sizes also support student success, with Brandon Valley test scores ranking among the highest in the conference.
